So we were pleased to learn that Richmond Heights Police Department has gained approval from City Council to purchase four new Police-Ready Mountain Bikes. The four bikes will cost residents $10,499.96 and will come from the Boys Town Nebraska-based manufacturer Volcanic Bikes by the end of April, with officers expected to be in the field by the summer, according to the city.

    Perry Village government has officially secured ownership of a section of the Champion Farm property that it purchased from Perry Schools three years ago. Perry Schools conveyed the title to the property to Perry Village in a signed deed that was delivered last week to village Solicitor James O’Leary. A deed is a written document that grants ownership of a property to a person or entity. O’Leary filed the deed at the Lake County Recorder’s Office on the morning of April 11.

    Madison Township has initiated efforts to apply for a Community Development Block Grant to build new restrooms at Township Park, which is located at 6717 Lake Road East. Township trustees, at their recent meeting, approved a resolution authorizing township Service Director Paul Cook to file the CDBG application, and provide all documentation required to become eligible for funding assistance.

    The release of federal funding for an erosion control project in Madison Township has been delayed. That announcement was made by Township Administrator Tim Brown during a recent workshop session with township trustees. Madison Township has been waiting for authorization to access $1.02 million in federal funding that was approved in early 2024 by the U.S. House and Senate for an armor stone revetment project at Stanton Park. The park is located at 5585 Chapel Road. U.S. Rep.
