Chariho sophomore Adriana Jeannenot pitched a no-hitter, striking out 17, and hit a two-run home run in a 6-0 win over Coventry. Brianna DeGiacomo supported Jeannenot with three hits, including a solo home run and a two-RBI single. Chariho, now 4-1, is aiming to challenge reigning state champion La Salle. Cumberland pitcher Andrew Nocera worked around a leadoff double in the top of the seventh and the Clippers closed out a 5-4 victory over the Bulldogs at Martin Street. The Westerly Bulldogs are up to the top level after winning two of the last three Division II titles in 2022 and 2024. CUMBERLAND — Thursday afternoon changed for Gabe Niman about 30 minutes before his winning contribution. Cumberland manager Steve Rocchio told the junior he might be called upon to pinch hit in the late innings.
