With Vice President Kamala Harris’ selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate last week, the North Star state has now produced three Democratic VP candidates in the past 60 years. Like Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale before him, Walz is popular in his home state. The three men were products of small, rural communities, and in office all three — as Democrats — championed liberal causes.
