    Published 10:23 pm Tuesday, June 3, 2025 With all precincts reporting, challengers Willis Thompson and Vickie Bailey finished on top in Tuesday’s municipal election in Vicksburg, defeating the incumbents, Mayor George Flaggs Jr. and Ward 2 Alderman Alex Monsour, respectively. Tuesday’s numbers gave Thompson a narrow, 61-vote victory over Flaggs. Thompson finished the day with 1,770, or 44%, with Flaggs finishing with 1,709 votes, or 42%.

Featuring prize giveaways, vendors and a visit from groups such as the Southside Riders MC, Nubian Kruzer and Ruff Riders, among other activities, Saturday’s event also included numerous guest speakers.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Juepharion T. Wesley surrendered to authorities after he was identified by witnesses on the scene as the shooter in Thursday’s incident.

    Published 2:32 pm Thursday, May 29, 2025 A Warren County man is facing charges of statutory rape this week after being taken into custody over the weekend. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said 25-year-old Shane Standish was arrested Saturday morning by Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies Mitt Goza and Andrew Clemts after a traffic stop on Highway 61 North, just south of the Issaquena County line. Pace said Standish was wanted after reports of sexual contact with a minor.
