TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with Energia Natural Dominicana (ENADOM), a joint venture between AES Dominicana and Energas in the Dominican Republic, for the delivery of 400,000 tons of LNG per year starting in mid-2027. Investment firm Stonepeak will spend $5.7 billion to acquire 40% interest in Woodside’s Louisiana LNG production and export terminal in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The project has a total permitted capacity of 27.6 mtpa and is nearing final investment decision (FID) for the foundation development.

UK chemical producer INEOS Energy completed its acquisition of CNOOC’s US Gulf business for an undisclosed sum. The completion of the deal marks the third major investment by INEOS Energy in the US in the past 3 years following the 1.4-mtpa LNG deal completed with Sempra in December 2022 and the acquisition of Chesapeake Energy’s oil and gas assets in south Texas in May 2023. Its purchase of the CNOOC business increases INEOS’s capital spend on energy assets in the region to more than $3 billion.

Excelerate Energy has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all New Fortress Energy’s assets in Jamaica for $1.055 billion in cash. Under the terms of the agreement, Excelerate will acquire the assets and operations of the Montego Bay LNG Terminal, the Old Harbour LNG Terminal, and the Clarendon combined heat and power co-generation plant. The company expects to assume all material contracts currently in place.
LNG Canada Plant Nearing Cooldown Phase

LNG Canada will take delivery of its cooldown LNG cargo as soon as 1 April as part of the final equipment testing phase of operations prior to bringing its $18 billion Kitimat liquefaction plant fully on-line and ready to deliver commercial volumes of super-chilled gas. The Maran Gas Roxana is scheduled to arrive from Australia. The cooldown period is expected to take 3 to 4 weeks. The plant will be Canada’s first LNG export facility.

Supermajor Shell has taken the final investment decision for Gato do Mato, a deepwater project in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The Gato do Mato Consortium includes Shell (operator with a 50% stake), Ecopetrol (30%), TotalEnergies (20%), and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A., acting as the manager of the production sharing contract.
Edison Chouest Acquires Norwegian ROV Manufacturer

Edison Chouest is buying Norway-based manufacturer of remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems Kystdesign in a strategic move to reinforce its commitment to underwater robotics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase comes a little less than a year removed from the Louisiana contractor scooping up ROV operator ROVOP. That deal expanded Chouest’s fleet to more than 100 ROVs and six autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).

The combined company will be the largest Alberta Montney and Duvernay landholder, a light-oil producer in Saskatchewan, and will leverage the combined asset base and technical expertise to drive profitability and returns to shareholders.
