SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - High pressure will rule the weather over the upcoming days so expect to see gorgeous beach weather continuing. This ridge of high pressure is pretty much over the top of us so don’t expect too much change in our weather pattern over the rest of the work week and beyond. The recent rain has lowered our fire danger but we will see things stay dry for the next week and more than likely through the rest of this month.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - After a day of heavy rainfall things have calmed down. A lot of people were happy with the rain due to the drought conditions we have been experiencing lately. We did see some beneficial rain but that is all gone for now as high pressure builds in and skies stay dry. Expect to see mostly sunny skies through the weekend and into early next week as high pressure hold on across the area.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The storm system responsible for dumping heavy rain across the area is moving out. Most of the rain is now east of the area and only a few residuel showers or possible overnight. We will see high pressure build back in and we will see mostly sunny skies through the rest of the work week. Expect to see nice weather with mild temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday and then a warming trend will move in after that. Some of the rainfall totals just for Monday exceeded 7 inches.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - An area of low pressure over Louisiana continues to pump up tropical moisture into our area. This moisture along with the proximity of this low pressure will bring showers and a few thunderstorms throughout Monday morning tapering off by mid afternoon as the line of storms moves inland. We are calling for a low end First Alert Weather Day on Monday due to the possibility of some heavy rain at times.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A storm system developing in the northern Gulf will bring plenty of tropical moisture into our area over the weekend. The best chance of rain will be on Monday but we will see a good chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday at anytime during the day. The best chance for moderate to heavy rain will begin late Sunday and then throughout the day on Monday with some breaks in the rain occasionally.
