Nigel Huddleston MP, co-chairman of the Conservative Party, visited Truro and other Cornish towns on Monday (April 14). The visit comes ahead of the Cornwall Council elections on May 1, where 87 seats are contested, including four in Falmouth.

Three new hi-tech Tenstar simulators, costing more than £222,000, have been installed for students studying agriculture, engineering, and horticulture. The simulators are designed to help learners gain confidence and basic skills before they operate real machinery.

Other events include an Easter afternoon tea and coffee morning. Daytime clubbing Nineties pop icons N-Trance and A1 are set to perform in Falmouth. The Princess Pavilion will host the daytime clubbing event on Saturday, April 19, from 4pm to 9pm. General admission tickets are priced at £31.

Sunshine Pre-school was given an overall grade of "good" by the education watchdog. Ofsted inspector, Leanne Edge, said: "Children arrive happily and take part in a variety of learning experiences as part of an ambitious curriculum.
