The Carnival Miracle arrived into Portland Port at around 7.25am this morning with assistance from Tug Rupert Best and is due to leave around 5pm. Reportedly carrying around 2,114 passengers, the ship is on a round-cruise of Spain, Portugal and France. It calls a day after the AIDASol which also brought more than 2,000 passengers to the port. This is the Miracle’s maiden visit to Portland, with her sister ship, the Costa Mediterranea visiting on April 2019.

Easton Gardens on Portland has become a major problem for anti-social behaviour (ASB). Residents spoke to the Echo last month about the problems which include yobs causing damage, late-night noise, drug taking and drinking.

The Bridport Vegan Market, which was due to take place on the Millennium Green today has been cancelled due to a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office. A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms is currently in place until 6pm today. A spokesperson for Bridport Town Council said: “Sadly the forecast has meant the market has been postponed - but it will be rearranged as it was looking to be a great event with 20 stalls.

West Bay Road car park is a favourite place for 'boy racers' (Image: NQ) Police spoke to drivers after investigating reports of 'boy racers' at West Bay. And they have said clear video footage of incidents would help them pursue the matter 'more robustly'. Officers were called to the resort after getting complaints. West Bay is a known hotspot for anti-social behaviour particular related to young drivers speeding around the streets and car parks.

Police warning over 'stranger danger' after suspicious incident involving two boys (Image: PA) POLICE have been investigating an incident in Dorset where two boys were said to have felt 'uncomfortable' after being approached by a man they didn't know who asked for help. Officers have confirmed after conducting enquiries that no offences were committed.
