A Mobile tax consultant and local restaurateur has been sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison for under-reporting her taxes by $2 million, according to prosecutors. During a hearing Wednesday, May 28, 41-year-old Kenneshia Davis was ordered to serve a 12-month prison term by U.S. District Judge Jeffery Beaverstock, as well as pay $67,975 in restitution for filing false or fraudulent statements on her tax returns from 2015 to 2017.

Parking rates at Mobile Regional Airport will increase beginning Monday, June 2, according to an update from the Mobile Airport Authority. The authority announced in its newsletter Wednesday, May 28, the cost of short- and long-term parking will be hiked by $2 per hour beginning next week.
