The disability advocacy organization plans to build Legacy Park with their own funds on their West Rapid property, honoring Black Hills Works members who have passed away and providing an accessible outdoor recreation area.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Several cities and municipalities around the Black Hills hosted elections Tuesday. Here are the results so far:In Spearfish, incumbent mayor John Senden defeated challenger Micah Ware with a vote of 1040 to 711. Dean Myers won the ward one city council seat with 252 votes with challengers Marty Clark and Raeann Mettler receiving 188 votes and 131 votes respectively. In ward two, Larry Klarenbeek won with 284 votes to opponent Victoria Jewell Greenlee’s 223.

Not everyone agrees with the memorandum’s specifications. “The Black Hills National Forest needs to do some things, but increasing timber harvesting across the forest is not one of them,” Norbeck Society member Dave Mertz said.

(KOTA) - Pennington County Sheriff Brian Mueller and Meade County Sheriff Pat West met with members of the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association Thursday at the Wall Community Center to discuss a growing crime in rural communities - cattle theft. “Any time that cattle prices get high like they are today, that’s a concern for us in law enforcement and that’s certainly a concern for the producers,” Mueller said.
