RAPID CITY, S.D. - Since its inception in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a global movement, bringing millions together to support and transform their communities through generosity. This year, one local organization hoping for support is the Humane Society of the Black Hills. Each year, the shelter takes in approximately 4,000 animals, which averages to 11 animals per day. With so many mouths to feed and cages to clean, the shelter relies heavily on community support to continue its operations.

Dangerously cold temperatures means stay indoors as much as you can. If you need to go outside, DRESS IN LAYERS (hats, gloves, face coverings, jackets, multiple socks, etc)! Frostbite is a high concern with these temps. Stay safe and stay warm this weekend folks.

Dangerously cold temperatures will continue through Monday morning. As winds increase this evening, wind chills will drop to -40 to -60. Blowing snow across south central SD will reduce visibilities and cause hazardous travel. #sdwx #wywx https://t.co/jklcV84oJF
