LEBANON, Ohio (WXIX) - Leaders in Warren and Campbell counties say it’s a mistake that the U.S. government put them on a new list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” for immigration enforcement, putting them at risk for losing federal funding. “This report is wrong. NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) - Newport Independent Schools presented a tentative budget Wednesday night after making dozens of cuts earlier this month. The school was reportedly facing a $3.9 million budget deficit headed into 2026. According to school leaders, the budget presented at their latest meeting would see them climb out of that deficit. Board Member Bobbie Stubbeman took time to acknowledge some of the public’s concerns about the elimination of dozens of teacher positions.

COVINGTON, Ky (WXIX) -City leaders in Covington announced Tuesday that early work on the I-71/Brent Spence Bridge corridor project will begin this summer. Some of the earliest work will involve demolishing two homes on West 11th Street and West 12th Street by Aug. 10. City leaders say another contract is out for bid to demolish the radio tower at Goebel Park. Large portions of the project will cut into the existing park.
