CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man who was stabbed to death in his OTR home early Wednesday morning is being recalled by one of his good friends as being high energy, a gentleman, and someone who was caring and very protective. Patrick Heringer, 46, died from his injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A third person has now pleaded guilty in connection with the fire that damaged the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge and shut down southbound Interstate 471. Kaitlen Hall, 24, was in court Thursday, where she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice. She was sentenced to 1 year of probation and 40 hours of community service. Another suspect in the case, 26-year-old James Hamilton, is expected to also appear in court Thursday.

WAVERLY, Ohio (WXIX) - Edward “Jake” Wagner agreed to spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance of parole when he pleaded guilty four years ago to killing most of the eight victims in the 2016 Pike County massacre. His defense attorney, the judge overseeing the case at the time and the victims’ families all agreed to the terms of the plea deal, including life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Video from earlier coverage. CROSBY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A motorcyclist is dead following an early Monday crash in western Hamilton County, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. John Messer, 62, died after being taken to a Mercy medical center in Harrison, the sheriff’s office confirmed to FOX19 NOW. Messer was on a motorcycle when he and an SUV crashed at New Haven and Jacob roads in Crosby Township shortly before 5 a.m. Monday, the sheriff’s office explained.

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio (WXIX) - An 18-year-old man admitted to spray painting a swastika and the words “WP” on the walkway and driveway outside a Lincoln Heights home, court records show. It happened Saturday along Simmons Avenue in Lincoln Heights, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Tyler Fout is held at the Hamilton County jail on misdemeanor charges of ethnic intimidation and criminal damaging or endangering, court records show.
