ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for portions of central & southside Virginia while a Tornado Watch is also in effect to the northeast which includes Nelson County. Both watches go until 10 P.M. as scattered storms will develop this afternoon through the evening with damaging wind gusts the main hazard. Some large hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out either. Make sure to have multiple ways to get severe alerts today.

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - Tonight will be mild and a bit humid across the region as low temperatures fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s. There will be the chance for patchy fog to develop overnight towards sunrise. As any fog lifts by mid-morning, there will be a mix of sunshine and some clouds as we heat up into the afternoon with high temperatures ranging from near 80 degrees to the upper 80s.
