But it's Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans, our final day to celebrate the Carnival season and honor the rich history of the holiday with parades, king cakes, costumes, dancing and booze. Rex route changes again just hours before Mardi Gras Day parade, NOPD says

The Krewe of Rex parade route has changed once again, the New Orleans Police Department announced early on Mardi Gras morning. Due to incoming severe weather and high winds, Zulu and Rex changed their start times and routes on Monday. Now, Rex will parade at 9:30 a.m. beginning at its traditional start at Napoleon and Claiborne avenues. They will travel down St. Charles Avenue to Calliope Street. The procession will end there.

Omega Psi Phi mourns death of Southern University student; cause of death undetermined

A day after a Southern University student and a Human Jukebox trumpet player was found unresponsive in a park, the international president of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity issued a statement saying members are supporting Baton Rouge authorities in the police investigation of the death. Caleb Wilson, 20, a Kenner native, died Thursday morning at a Baton Rouge hospital, after he was found in North Sherwood Forest Park. Wilson was a junior studying mechanical engineering.
Report: Sunday's Uptown New Orleans Mardi Gras parades will be rescheduled

The parades previously scheduled to roll on the Uptown New Orleans route have been rescheduled. The krewes of Femme Fatale, Carrollton and King Arthur will now instead roll on Tuesday night, according to a report from Fox 8. There's a 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms starting at noon Sunday, according to the NWS Mardi Gras Decision Support Page.
