Portland-area law firms grew more diverse over the last year on almost every front according the the PBJ's latest law firms survey. Women lawyers increased from 37.6% of firms' staff in 2024 to 42.9% this year, while BIPOC lawyers (Black, Indigenous and people of color) rose from 9.5% to 11.5%.

The state's population has been aging and its birth rate declining for many years, producing fewer college-age residents.
