TROY — A local Girl Scout has taken on a special project to help ensure every member of the community can enjoy the local library she says has given her so much. For her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Troy High School sophomore Lauren Hatto created and provided several items for the Troy Public Library that will improve access for neurodivergent individuals, such as those with autism. “I chose to focus on this topic because I love the library,” said Hatto.

TROY — Those helping combat pancreatic cancer will convene April 27 in Troy for the Purplestride Walk to End Pancreatic Cancer. The event is hosted annually across the country by the Pancreatic Action Network, also known as “PanCan.” The walk in southeast Michigan usually takes place in Detroit, but the event was moved to Troy this year because of the NFL Draft in Detroit.

TROY — On Sunday, April 28, the Troy Community Center will play host to the second-annual Michigan High School Cricket Tournament. The tournament was begun last year by Washtenaw International High School student Sarthak Subudhi.
