A Northern Kentucky attorney who stole hundreds of thousands of dollars then vanished, was sentenced in a Campbell County courtroom Wednesday. Jennifer Zaccheus-Miller was sentenced to six years in prison on one count of theft and five years on another. The two run concurrently. She was also ordered by Judge Dan Zalla to pay restitution for the entire amount stolen. Miller pleaded guilty to stealing a total of more than $265,000 from two families.

The shooting death of a University of Cincinnati doctoral student more than a year ago is getting new attention as investigators search for answers in the disturbing and mysterious murder. The victim, 26-year-old Aaditya Adlakha, was a fourth-year doctoral student from India doing research at UC's College of Medicine. He was in the college's Molecular and Developmental Biology Graduate Program.

The Ohio River receded Thursday to levels that are considered to be minor flood stage. In New Richmond, some are just getting back into their homes to assess that damage and to begin the cleanup phase. “It got about four inches in the front room and the living room,” said Shirley Penny, who lives about two blocks from the river. She is one of many who needed every kind of flood cleanup supply. She went to the First Baptist Church nearby to begin.
