He helped found a group that incudes such concepts as Summit Grill and Third Street Social. "Andy" Paul Lock, a restaurateur who built a base of concepts including Third Street Social and Summit Grill died at age 57. Lock died on Thursday surrounded by family, according to an obituary. He was founder and co-owner of Summit Hospitality Group, which included Summit Grill, Third Street Social, Boru Asian Eatery, Pearl Tavern, South of Summit and Neighborhood Grill.

The physician pleaded guilty to a federal count days before he was to go on trial. A Leawood physician admitted accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in kickbacks as part of a health care fraud scheme. Dr. Scott Taggart Roethle, 47, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of health care fraud. The plea came days before he was to go to trial. In August 2021, a federal grand jury handed down a 25-count indictment against Roethle.

Kansas City West Bottoms Railroad isn't the longest railway, but it harkens to a history in the area that goes back well more than a century. One of the newest businesses in the West Bottoms hearkens back to the earliest days of the neighborhood's history. The Kansas City West Bottoms Railroad began operations March 5 on 1.25 miles of track leased from Union Pacific. The Class III, or shortline, railroad is one of 11 such operations controlled by Joplin-based Jaguar Transport.

The documentary series promises a deep look at the Kansas City Chiefs, on and off the field. A new documentary series will take viewers behind the scenes of the Kansas City Chiefs’ remarkable 2024 season, which culminated in a third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. ESPN, Disney+ and Skydance Sports on Friday announced work on an ESPN Original Series on the Chiefs. The six-episode “docuseries” is set to air later this year on ESPN and Disney+, according to a release.
