A high-ranking executive who left Lockton Cos. in 2019 has returned to the insurance brokerage. A former high-ranking executive at Lockton is returning to the company. The Kansas City-based insurance company announced that Robert Reiff is back, as a regional executive for People Solutions. Reiff has a long history with Lockton Cos. He served as COO of the company’s St. Louis operations for roughly four and a half years, then spent another four and a half years as president of Lockton Benefit Group.

Jodi Coombs takes over the interim CEO post, but appears to have an inside track on the permanent position. A former top executive of Children's Mercy Hospital was named interim leader of a Philadelphia children's hospital and may have a line on the permanent position. St. Christopher's Hospital for Children named Jodi Coombs as its new interim CEO. Coombs takes over the post from Rob Brooks, who has served in the same capacity for the past year.

The head of H&R Block Inc. had reason to be relieved after this year's April 15 tax deadline. It wasn’t a tax refund, but the CEO of H&R Block Inc. received a nice check the day after this year’s tax deadline due to a sale of company stock. Jeff Jones sold 53,810 shares of H&R Block stock (NYSE: HRB) on April 16, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The sale was worth $3.41 million. Kansas City-based H&R Block is a leading tax preparation company.

A Lenexa-based alternative lender with hundreds of retail locations across the U.S. and Canada is about to change hands in a multimillion-dollar deal. Lenexa-based QC Holdings Inc. will sell to a company that bills itself as one of the nation’s largest business development companies. QC Holdings, an alternative lender through its LendNation retail locations, agreed to be acquired by a portfolio company of Prospect Capital Corp. (Nasdaq: PSEC).
