On Friday, residents started collecting petitions for a recall election. The same day, a lawsuit was filed against the city of Cleveland Heights and Natalie McDaniel by the ex-special assistant to Mayor Khalil Seren. According to court documents, Patrick Costigan was fired as the mayor’s assistant in March.

    CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The jury trial for two of the four suspects accused in the fatal shooting of a 10-year-old girl on July 4, 2024, is scheduled to begin Monday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Gracie Griffin was shot in the head standing outside a home in the area of W. 125th Street and Triskett Road. Ed’Jawon Williams, 24, pleaded guilty earlier this month to obstructing justice and was sentenced to one year in prison. Katie McKnight will have her own trial at a later date.
