CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Neighbors in Westlake say they were woken up to screams and police sirens outside of the home of Thomas Kess, the owner of Angelo’s Pizza. Mike Farraj, who lives across the street on Devonshire Oval says he called police after a woman was hobbling across the street and claimed she had been stabbed. “I see this young lady running toward me. Crying for help and to call the police,” says Farraj.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The driver who fatally struck a seven-year-old Cleveland boy riding his skateboard will be sentenced Thursday. In March, Donald Mynatt, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of failure to stop after an accident, a 3rd degree felony, for the death of Amir Maclin.

VALLEY VIEW, Ohio (WOIO) - Nine dogs from Kentucky are now making Cuyahoga County their new home. They were saved from a shelter that was damaged during last weeks intense storms. The dogs arrived at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter on Saturday from the Hopkins County Humane Society. Dangerous storms and intense flooding tore the roof off the shelter. “It was uninhabitable for the dogs and the cats there,” says Jen Huettich, Manager of External Affairs at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A crime spree continuing in throughout Cleveland. This time thieves breaking in to cars in West Park. Over the weekend dozens of cars had windows smashed and items stolen. “This side is laminated, so they couldn’t pop it. They did the same thing right here, stuck it in and popped it out,” says Tom Sopko. Tom Sopko says Monday morning he found his cars back window had been shattered. Making him one of the latest victims of this string of car break-ins.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A flood watch in is effect for most of Northeast Ohio Friday. Several inches of rain are expected to fall throughout the weekend. First responders around the region preparing and checking equipment in case of rescues. Cleveland’s Fire Water rescue teams says they are on high alert. They are keeping a close eyes on the rain and flooding risks. “They are trained in all facets of rescue. Water rescue being one of them,” says Lieutenant Mike Norman.
