    MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - Two baby owls are being rehabilitated after Mentor-on-the-Lake Police officers rescued them Friday. According to a Facebook post, a concerned citizen called police to report two baby screech owls on the ground near a tree. Mentor-on-the-Lake officers and the Lake Metroparks were able to locate the owls and find placement at nearby Penitentiary Glen Reservation. In the post, officers hope the owls will be rehabilitated and released back to the wild.

    SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) - A South Euclid Police officer found an injured chihuahua Saturday and took the pup to the vet. Sgt. Wilson found the chihuahua in the 400 block of Greenvale Drive Saturday afternoon. Wilson took the pup to the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Highland Heights. According to a Saturday afternoon update, the chihuahua was transported to the City of Euclid Dog Kennel. Officers think her name is either “Penelope” or “Penny” and she is possibly from out of state.
