SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The man accused of shooting at Akron Police officers after a traffic stop, was arraigned Thursday in Summit County Court of Common Pleas. Jon Tae Von Angelo Nelson, 30, pleaded not guilty to felonious assault, discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, having weapons while under disability, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The man who allegedly went to the Elyria Police Station with the “explicit intent of killing an officer,” but when he did not find one in the lobby, he attacked a woman instead, has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. Daniel Carrillo remains locked up in the Lorain County Jail and his attorney filed a motion to determine whether Carrillo is competent to stand trial.
