    PARK CITY — Big changes are coming to Vail Resorts, including potential layoffs and new enhancements. The company announced a two-year transformation plan that will affect all 42 resorts under the company’s ownership, including Park City Mountain Resort. Lindsay Hogan, Senior Director of Communications with Vail Resorts, said less than 2% of the company’s total workforce will be impacted as part of the plan.

Lindsay Hogan, Senior Director of Communications with Vail Resorts, said it won’t have much impact on frontline roles. She expects the layoffs to affect about 2% of Vail’s workforce, mostly in management and back-end roles.

    VERNAL, Utah — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will host two sandhill crane viewing events this October. “Sandhill cranes flock to the Uintah Basin during migration and are very easy to spot in the fields here,” said Tonya Kieffer-Selby, the DWR Northeastern outreach manager. The unique birds often lay two eggs in spring, per the DWR. They remain with their juveniles through their first winter and then go their separate ways.

    The sheriff’s office said witnesses were in boats on the water at the time of the crash, and investigators contacted them afterward.     SALT LAKE CITY — Stefan Ceciu went to the Lindon Marina to kill some time and brought along a drone he had purchased recently. “I noticed a few officers were here parked in the parking lot after I had set up. So I approached them just to double check if it was okay to take off still given the emergency situation.”After a few minutes a Lindon police officer asked Ceciu what the range was on his drone, “and if there’s any chance I could go out there and possibly look for a family,” he said.
