That is why as parents look through their kids’ closets and clean out the old to make room for the new, the Crossroads Urban Center’s Thrift Store is eager for donations. Crossroads Urban Center Deputy Executive Director Bill Tibbitts said this is the time of year when the store gives away the most clothing.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resouces has provided tips and reminders to hunters ahead of the 2024 deer and elk hunts. The first hunt kicks off on August 17. Firstly, the DWR said to research the area you plan to use before you leave. The Utah Hunt Planner displays areas that are open to hunting and those that prohibit it. It also includes notes from biologists who have worked in the areas.

VINEYARD, Utah — Several people were sent to the hospital following an overnight CO2 leak in Vineyard Wednesday. Sgt. Austin Edwards with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a CO2 leak at a home near 330 North. This happened around 1 a.m. Approximately 10 people were inside the residence. Six people were transported to an area hospital, with two of them in a “more critical” condition. Dominion Energy plans to visit the scene to “run some tests,” Edwards said.

AT THE GAMES — Team USA sport climber Sam Watson had an interesting reaction after breaking his own world record in speed climbing. The 18-year-old from Southlake, Texas, scaled the speed wall in 4.75 seconds Tuesday, breaking the 4.79-second record he set at the World Cup in Wujiang, China, in April to advance to the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics.
