    SALT LAKE CITY — Officers fatally shot one man after a domestic violence incident was reported overnight in Salt Lake City, police say. KSL TV has now learned the name of the man killed and how this wasn’t the first time that he put his own wife and children in danger. Family and family friends tell KSL the man police shot and killed is a 60-year-old Christian Allen. They said he was trying to light his wife and kids on fire, just like he went to jail for 15 years ago.

    SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was arrested Tuesday after police said she was connected to a house fire in Magna. She now faces aggravated arson charges. Crews arrived Tuesday morning to a rental home off Main Street in Magna, according to Benjamin Porter with the Unified Fire Authority. “There was heavy smoke and lots of flames when we arrived,” he said.

    TAYLORSVILLE — After a backyard burglary left a family feeling scared and vulnerable in Taylorsville, police said an arrest was made in the case after KSL-TV circulated footage of the burglary. The video featured surveillance footage of the suspect kicking a backyard fence, then falling through. He allegedly stole tools with sentimental value before trying to kick in a door to the home. Ultimately, he fled.

    LOCAL NEWS May 12, 2025, 2:50 PM BLUFFDALE — On Sunday evening, a Bluffdale family nestled into their home, anticipating a Hawaii vacation the next morning. Hours later, they awoke to a frightening scene — a fire. On Monday morning, the family said between 60% and 80% of their home was lost in the flames, which aggressively tore through the garage and up to the roof, causing a collapse. The family said they’re simply grateful everyone got out with their lives.
