METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Entergy Louisiana launched a new program called “Power Through” to help businesses stay online during strong storms that knock out the power. Copeland Tower Senior Living in Metairie was the first business to sign up. However, two hospitals in Baton Rouge, three Breaux Mart locations and several food distribution sites have also joined the program.

Parish officials said the outage is expected to last from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will upgrade the power line circuits and improve electric reliability.

CMPD says the officer is out of the hospital. Police were trying to stop a car with a fake tag when it drove off and crashed into a patrol car

A CMPD cruiser was involved in a crash in a neighborhood just off of Albermarle Road early Wednesday morning. MEDIC tells us one officer had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
