A grand opening ceremony was held on April 29, hosted by the local RCMP and the City of Prince Rupert. May 7, 2025, Brampton, Ont. – As part of a series of proposed changes to protect Ontario communities by cracking down on crime, the province is proposing new legislation that would amend the Highway Traffic Act to give police the authority to search for and seize electronic devices that are intended to be used for vehicle theft. The change would provide law enforcement with stronger tools to keep keyless devices off the streets and out of the hands of would-be criminals.

May 6, 2025, Saskatoon, Sask. – Police in Saskatoon are reporting a rather unusual case that saw them catch their suspect – but lose their car. Police say officers were patrolling an area west of downtown Sunday morning when a drunk man who was carrying open liquor traipsed onto the road in front of them. Police arrested the man after a brief chase on foot — only to discover the police vehicle had been stolen while they were gone.
