ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - For decades, the Roanoke Jewish Federation has recognized the athleticism, academics, and citizenship of area high school athletes, and Monday night was no different at the organization’s annual B’nai B’rith awards banquet. Congratulations to this year’s winners in Patrick Henry’s Sam Dowdy and Roanoke Catholic’s Addison Becker. Becker is a track and field, cross country, and wrestling athlete who couldn’t attend in person but plans to attend Liberty University in the fall.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A windy day on the green wasn’t a problem for Salem Spartan and Vanderbilt commit Kathryn Ha, as she impressed once again on day two, finishing the round five under par, and five strokes ahead of the next closest competitor. Ha is atop the 15-18 girl’s age range. Through the first two rounds, her lead position is the best she’s performed in the Scott Robertson Tournament so far, something she says demonstrates her growth as a golfer.
