AUBURN | Bub Terrell was the Auburn Regional MVP batting .727 with 10 RBI in three games. Chris Rembert batted .315 with five RBI and Chase Fralick .363 with four RBI. Andreas Alvarez threw 5.0 shutout innings in the Regional-clinching win over N.C. State. If the Regional went to an all-or-nothing game Monday, Christian Chatterton would have taken the mound as AU’s starter. AUBURN | Auburn will have its hands full and then some this weekend in its Super Regional matchup against Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers will enter the best 2-of-3 series riding a 21-game winning streak and with the nation’s best record at 51-11. “We’re down to one team that’s in our way of going back to Omaha,” said AU coach Butch Thompson. “That’s the goal, the dream of every college baseball player.

AUBURN | Andreas Alvarez didn’t know he would be starting one of Auburn’s biggest games of the season until nearly noon Sunday. About seven and a half hours later, the freshman right-hander threw the best game of his young career holding N.C. State scoreless over 5.0 innings in an 11-1 NCAA Regional-clinching win. “Coach was like, ‘Come meet me in the weight room.’ It was special to get that start. It was a special feeling, especially with all the fans out there.

Four-star ATH can make instant impact AUBURN | Auburn views Tyriq Green as more than just a defensive back, and that's just fine with the four-star athlete from Buford, Ga. Green, 6-foot and 185 pounds, spent the weekend in Auburn on his first official visit. "Really, just all around. Being able to come in here and do everything. Put me in the return game, being able to play corner," said Green.
