Yoselin Lopez-Perez, 18, and Guillermo Quintero-Camacho, 28, were pulled from the water at approximately 3:50 p.m., according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. Lopez-Perez was pronounced dead at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina. Quintero-Camacho was also taken to MUSC and was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. Wednesday, according to the coroner's office. The cause of death was drowning.

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A Cottageville woman is facing multiple charges of cruelty to animals after an investigation by the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. Toni F. Avant was charged with 16 counts of felony animal cruelty, deputies said. On Wednesday, March 19, animal service workers received a call from a concerned citizen about a residence on Running Creek Lane.

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Former Williamsburg County Supervisor Tiffany Teonta Cooks is facing a new 16-count indictment with allegations of public corruption, almost two months after being indicted on similar allegations, Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Thursday. On March 12, Cooks and former Williamsburg County Sheriff Stephen Gardner were indicted on five counts each by the South Carolina State Grand Jury. Gardner was suspended by order of Governor Henry McMaster the same day.
