GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A local U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service field office responsible for protecting endangered species in New Jersey is slated to close as part of federal budget cuts by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency. The office on Jimmie Leeds Road appears on a list of 164 federally leased offices circulated by a Democratic House subcommittee on natural resources.

ATLANTIC CITY— Removal of Ocean Casino's iconic "OCEAN" lettering began Thursday, to be replaced by new LED signage by early April, the casino announced. The work is being done by Eastern Sign Tech of Burlington. Once installed, the casino's new signage will include more than 7,000 puck lights that can glow red, green, blue and white in "an endless array of dynamic displays."The LED technology will also be energy efficient, requiring 70% less power of a comparable neon sign.

VINELAND — Nebius, a Netherlands-based AI infrastructure company, is expanding its operations in the United States with a new data center expected to open in the city this summer, the company said this week. Nebius, which is having its facility custom built, will have a capacity of 300 megawatts, the company said. AI data centers are specialized facilities built to house enough computing power to power the internet and handle the artificial intelligence workload.

ATLANTIC CITY — Community officials gave the public a glimpse Thursday of a hydroponic facility growing fresh leafy greens in a Pacific Avenue storefrontThe idea of growing fresh greens year round and in the shadows of the city's casinos may seem odd to outsiders, but organizations have been laying the groundwork for several years. The open house at Farmers Row Thursday was a joint effort by C.R.O.P.S., a community farming organization, and the Chelsea Economic Development Corporation.
