DeLand Police are looking for a "violent sexual predator" from Pennsylvania that may be in Florida.Police say 60-year-old Barry Bostwick did not appear for a sentencing hearing in September - after he was convicted of multiple counts of sexual intercourse with a child. Police say Bostwick has ties to DeLand.Anyone who spots him should call 911 immediately.

CARNIVAL MAGIC WAS IN OCHO RIOS THIS MORNING, AND CRUISE OFFICIALS SAY STRONG WINDS AND SWELLS CAUSED THAT PIER FENDER TO COLLAPSE AND THEN THE CRUISE SHIP HIT THE PIER. NO ONE GOT HURT IN THIS INCIDENT, EITHER. THE CRUISE SHIP WASN’T DAMAGED.

A police detective from Massachusetts is accused of assaulting two security workers and a sheriff's deputy at Disney World.Duane Danforth is on paid leave right now -- after his arrest at Epcot.He allegedly tried to enter a private event on Jan. 30, and got mad when security told him he couldn't be there.Danforth said, “I am going to (expletive) kill you” before he removed the ropes and pushed the security guard to the side, according to the affidavit.

A sergeant with the Bartow Police Department is in the hospital after being struck by a minivan, while responding to another wreck last night, according to the Polk County sheriff's office.Deputies said that Bartow police initially responded to a hit and run on Van Fleet Drive east in front of Walmart.During that investigation, the sergeant was hit by the minivan.The sergeant was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.The investigation into both the crash and the initial wreck...

A new Florida bill could restrict pronoun use in government workplaces.If this passes into law, it would essentially ban people who work for state and local government agencies from going by pronouns that are different than their sex assigned at birth.It would also make it illegal for nonprofits to require training on gender identity and sexual orientation. The bill was filed yesterday morning by Marion County Rep. Ryan Chamberlin.
Volusia woman convicted in deadly 2021 DUI crash

A Volusia County woman now convicted of crashing into a couple on a motorcycle could spend more than three decades behind bars. A jury found Jessica Mulero guilty of DUI manslaughter. On June 28, 2021, she hit a motorcycle at the intersection of Mason and North Ridge Avenues in Daytona Beach. The passenger on the bike was immediately killed, and the driver died later at the hospital. Mulero's blood alcohol concentration was .17, which is more than twice the legal limit.

There was a guilty verdict in the 2019 murder of Ahmad Davis.Tyquarius Smith, 23, was found guilty of his death.Davis was found dead in the woods along Old Apopka Road.Investigators say Smith shot Ahmad in a car after Ahmad asked for a ride.Another passenger in the car testified against Smith.Smith was sentenced to life in prison. A DeLand man is out of jail after he was accused of openly carrying a loaded gun, ammo and was wearing a bulletproof vest at a local cafe on Halloween.Michael Ribar, 22, was arrested Tuesday night after someone noticed him with a gun on his hip at Cafe DaVinci and alerted police.Police say he had a 9 millimeter handgun, three loaded magazines and a tactical belt with two handcuffs.Ribar was removed from the business at the request of the owner and he was charged with open carrying of weapons...
