PIEDMONT — Medical services will soon be available at AnMed’s newest campus, a 24-hour emergency hospital with additional medical offices, shortening drive times for both scheduled appointments and unplanned needs. The emergency department opens at 9 a.m. May 12, and the medical offices are on track to open July 14, according to Anmed. The office space also acts as a local base for Anderson County emergency management services and law enforcement.

GREENVILLE — An inflatable playground is headed to the Upstate in May, bringing with it obstacle courses, giant slides, ball pits and the world’s largest bounce house. The Big Bounce America rolls into the Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston from May 9-11. Billed as the biggest touring inflatable event in the world, it features seven massive inflatable attractions appropriate for all ages to play on.

CLEMSON — As it eyes the budget for the upcoming fiscal year already facing financial headwinds, Clemson University is preparing for slowed revenue growth and the loss of millions in research income because of federal funding cuts. Given the “uncertain funding environment” for federal research dollars, there’s a need for the institution to support its research, said Rick Petillo, the university’s newly named chief financial officer.
