Denkey recently amazed fans by scoring a spectacular goal via a "bicycle kick"—a difficult move where a player flips backward and kicks a crossed ball, landing on their back.

CINCINNATI — The wheels are in motion for the 2023 Major League Soccer MVP to move on from FC Cincinnati. Luciano Acosta joined his teammates for preseason training camp Jan. 24, but that doesn't mean he'll be on the field when the season kicks off. Sources tell WCPO 9 Sports that FC Cincinnati and Estudiantes, a top-flight club in Argentina, have agreed to a fee for the transfer of Acosta. The deal isn't done just yet, though.

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds held a 14-hour memorial visitation for legendary former player Pete Rose. Rose died on Sept. 30, at the age of 83. Notably, Rose still holds the Major League Baseball record for all-time hits, with 4,256. Thousands of fans showed-up at Great American Ball Park to pay their final respects on Sunday. “Pete was my idol,” said Reds fan, Matt Arminio.

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals facilitated an event that's been a long time coming in the Cincinnati area. Six local high schools put together girls flag football teams and played a full season, culminating a tournament Monday afternoon. Mercy McAuley, Notre Dame Academy, Mt. Notre Dame, Seton, Ursuline, and St. Ursula all brought their teams to the Bengals practice facility to play for a championship.

DAYTON, Ohio — Right-handed pitcher Rhett Lowder has the attention of baseball fans as he officially begins his pro career with the Reds organization. Lowder put together one of the more dominant and historic college careers in recent years during his time at Wake Forest. Specifically, he pitched 120.1 innings during his final season in Winston-Salem (2023), recording a 1.87 ERA with a perfect 15-0 record. The Cincinnati Reds drafted Lowder in the first round of last year's draft, seventh overall.
