The 2025 hurricane season is here, and we want to help you stay ready. “As we witnessed last year with significant inland flooding from hurricanes Helene and Debby, the impacts of hurricanes can reach far beyond coastal communities,” said Acting NOAA Administrator Laura Grimm. It’s rare for our area to experience severe storm impacts from a hurricane, but in the aftermath of Helene during the 2024 season, most of our area was without power for over a week, and it took months to clear debris.
