The No.2 Huntsville Havoc is set to open up the President’s Cup playoffs against the No. 7 Evansville Thunderbolts on Wednesday at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center. Last season, the Havoc reached the President’s Cup Finals where they fell in a heartbreaking Game Three to the Peoria Rivermen. Ever since the team has been hungry for a return to the postseason.

SAN ANTONIO, TX. (WAFF) - Auburn’s storybook season ended in the Final Four, Saturday, falling 79-73 to the Florida Gators. It was a back-and-forth battle most of the way. Auburn had its largest advantage at halftime, where they led 46-38 at the break. But the Gators came out fighting in the second half, led by guard Walter Clayton Jr. who finished leading all-scorers with 34 points. Chad Baker-Mazara led the way for the Tigers with 18 points.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A new era of men’s basketball began on The Hill, Thursday with Alabama A&M naming Donte Jackson head coach of the Bulldogs. Jackson brings proven success in the Southwestern Athletic conference. The three-time SWAC coach of the year led the Tigers to three conference regular season titles and tournament title in 2024. A two-time Ben Jone award winner comes to the court with a 263-185 overall record.

( WAFF ) - The Columbia High School football team currently holds the longest-running losing streak in the country, having lost 91 games straight, but that might be on the verge of change. The Eagles introduced former Auburn standout Sammie Coates as head coach on Wednesday afternoon. Coates brings with him a loaded resume as both a player and coach. The former Tiger helped lead Auburn to an SEC championship in 2013 and a BCS National Championship appearance in 2014.
