Golden Chick is known for its Golden Tenders, yeast rolls, and regional sides. Golden Chick opened the doors to its third Mississippi location, this time on Hardy Street across from the Hattiesburg Zoo. The franchise restaurant's other two locations are in the Pine Belt: Purvis, which opened in December 2023, and Oak Grove, which opened in April 2024. The Hattiesburg location is at 1701 Hardy St., in the former Wendy's building.

B.B. King, a 15-time Grammy Award winner, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has inspired countless musicians. Jackson, a Grammy-nominated artist and Mississippi Cultural Ambassador, has performed with King and other notable musicians. B.B. King, one of Mississippi's most celebrated blues artists, would have turned 100 this year. The Natchez Music Festival is honoring King's centennial with a tribute concert.

Buc-ee's will be at the Menge Avenue exit off Interstate 10 in Harrison CountyThe first Buc-ee's in Mississippi is set to open on June 9th in Pass Christian. Buc-ee's recently held a job fair to fill approximately 200 positions at the new location. The travel center will feature 120 fueling stations, 24 EV charging stations, and a shop with popular Buc-ee's items.

President Trump issued an executive order that eliminated funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Mississippi Library Association says the cuts will impact programs and services at libraries across the state. Among the programs facing cuts are early childhood literacy programs, high-speed internet in rural areas and job search assistance. It's National Library Week but in Mississippi, many library systems are still reeling from last month's cuts.
