With a runner on first and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, High-A Everett’s no-hit bid looked like it was about to end when Eugene’s James Tibbs III hit a fly ball into the right-center-field gap. Peete had other plans.

Julio Rodríguez exits game after being hit by line drive Share Seattle Mariners center fielder Julio Rodríguez exited Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels after being struck in the shin by a line drive off the bat of teammate Randy Arozarena. Rodríguez was attempting to steal third base in the third inning when Arozarena sent a scorching 98.1 mph line drive toward the hole between shortstop and third base.

Cal Raleigh did it again. The Seattle Mariners star catcher extended his MLB home run lead with his 25th blast of the season in the first inning of Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Raleigh’s latest blast was a skyscraping three-run shot to right-center field that came off an 0-1 sinker from Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz. It was far from Raleigh hardest-hit homer of the year, registering just a 99 mph exit velocity.

Logan Gilbert will make at least one more rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma before returning to the Seattle Mariners’ rotation, manager Dan Wilson said prior to Friday’s game in Anaheim. Gilbert, the Mariners’ opening day starter, has been on the injured list since April 26 with a flexor strain in his right elbow. Wilson said Gilbert is slated to fly from Anaheim back to Seattle on Sunday in advance of his next rehab start.
