    GEORGE WEST, Texas — A narrow path of damage was reported to the National Weather Service by the Live Oak County Emergency Management Coordinator on Thursday morning. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in George West at 7:39 AM near the intersection of Stevens Street and Lagarto. 3NEWS viewer, Johnny Berlanga, told meteorologist Carly Smith that he took this photo of a funnel cloud around 7:30 AM at  HWY 37 & 59 in George West.

The timing for Wednesday will include a risk of scattered thunderstorms from 5 AM - noon. A few of these storms may impact the Wednesday morning commute. The primary risk is heavy downpours, which may lead to street flooding.

Frequent lightning and street flooding will also be possible. The watch covers a population of about 2 million people. Wind gusts are expected to be around 70 mph, and the hail may be as large as 2 inches in diameter.

    ALICE, Texas — The National Weather Service surveyed the storm damage from Thursday night. They estimated a peak wind gust of 115 mph between Alice and Petronila, where hundreds of power and transmission poles were snapped. The power line poles that were snapped 10-15 ft above the ground are evidence of 115 mph wind speeds. The survey started where a well-organized MCS with a maturing bow echo moved into Duval and Jim Wells County.
