When Barb Hepler walked through the doors of Corry Manor — an HCF facility — in 1985, she was a recently divorced mother of two children who simply needed a job. More crucial evidence emerged Wednesday in the murder trial of Shawn Christopher Cranston, as a fellow inmate testified that Cranston confessed to the crime, and detailed GPS tracking showed his vehicle at the victim's home during the time of the murder. Many testified in Wednesday morning’s session of the Shawn Cranston trial, but the most potentially damning testimony of the morning came from Joseph Burch, a fellow inmate of Cranston at Crawford County Correctional Facility. Burch testified that Cranston told him he had broken into a house, killed a lady and left. In further conversation, Cranston detailed the crime. “He [Cranston] told me he had been shed hopping for most of the night,” Burch said.
