CLARION TWP. -- It’s unlikely residents in Clarion-Limestone School District will see any new tax increase for the 2025-26 school year. At the May 14 school board meeting, the board unanimously voted to approve to advertise the proposed final budget in the amount of $17,197,522, with expenses totaling $17,160,338, for a deficit of $37,184. One of the significant decreases of the proposed budget came from Real Estate Tax, as explained by current Business Manager Vern Lauffer.

The trucking industry is praising the U.S. Senate's votes Thursday to repeal California’s Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule and the Heavy-Duty Omnibus rule. The Advanced Clean Trucks rule required truck manufacturers to steadily increase the number of zero-emissions vehicles they produce. The Heavy-Duty Low-NOx Omnibus rule required lower emissions of nitrous oxide by trucks.

CLARION TWP. -- The public comment period at the recent Clarion-Limestone school board meeting was noticeably silent this time, despite the presence of a handful of residents who showed up again in support for Patrick Craig as Head Coach for Varsity Boys Basketball. At the May 14 school board meeting, Craig’s name was among a list of supplemental sports contracts for the 2025-26 school year, which the board voted unanimously to approve.
