LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The father of missing veterinarian Dr. Shawn Frehner told police he doesn’t believe his son would do anything to harm himself, according to a missing person report filed the day after Frehner disappeared. Frehner has not been seen or heard from since Sunday, April 6, after a video went viral that showed him kicking a colt in the head at a Pahrump property. The Nye County Sheriff’s office is investigating him for animal cruelty following a complaint from the horse’s owner.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The mother of 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis, who died after being beaten by a group of teens near Rancho High School, filed a lawsuit against the Clark County School District. In November 2023, several teens kicked and punched Lewis in an alley near the school. The beating was captured on video. Lewis died a week later from severe brain trauma suffered in the beating. Nine teens, all Rancho High School students, were arrested and charged.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person was struck by an RTC bus and seriously injured Thursday morning, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police. The crash was reported just before 5:30 a.m. Police said the bus was traveling westbound on Lake Mead Boulevard when it struck a person who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital. Lake Mead Boulevard is closed to traffic at Marion Drive, west of Nellis Boulevard. Police advise drivers to find an alternate route.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The driver accused of causing a crash that left a motorcyclist dead was leaving the Santa Fe Station casino after having a “few drinks,” according to the arrest report. Edward Dukes, 28, was arrested following the Tuesday afternoon crash near Lone Mountain Road and Rainbow Boulevard.
