LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Vegas Golden Knights teamed up with Smith’s on Wednesday morning to give away $20,000 worth of free gas, courtesy of the VGK Foundation. As part of Fan Appreciation Week, cars lined up early at the Smith’s on East Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road to receive $50 Smith’s gift cards. This is the sixth time the VGK Foundation has partnered with Smith’s in the last three years to give away gas and show love to the Las Vegas community.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Spring is in full bloom at Springs Preserve, and so are the butterflies. The newly reopened Butterfly Habitat is an annual tradition. The habitat contains close to 200 butterflies and is an up-close experience to observe free-flying butterflies and learn more about their important role as pollinators in the ecosystem. Senior Zoologist Katrina Smith showed off several colorful species, including Monarchs, Zebra Longwings, and Julia Butterflies.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A newly opened museum dedicated to aliens and other out-of-this-world experiences is sharing a look at extraterrestrial life. The Outpost 51 Alien Museum, located in Boulder City, is packed with wild alien recreations and fascinating events linked to extraterrestrials. The owner, Tom Devlin, is a special effects artist and creates and builds the displays.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Punk Rock Museum celebrates its second anniversary in the Las Vegas valley by offering free admission on Tuesday, April 1. The museum opened its doors on April 1, 2023, to showcase the rich history and culture of rock ‘n’ roll music. Co-founded by Vinnie Fiorello, former drummer of the band Less Than Jake, the museum has become a must-visit destination for punk rock fans from around the world.

Founder Chris Salas shared the inspiring journey that led to the Ability Center Of Southern Nevada. It began in 2016 when Salas, then a trainer at Las Vegas Athletic Club, was approached by a mother looking for specialized training for her daughter, Madison.
