    PEABODY — The city will clean up a former tannery site downtown to incorporate the parcel into its new Riverwalk through a $4 million Brownfields Cleanup grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. This 0.7 acre plot at 166R Main St. formerly held the Bob-Kat Tanning site and served as a home to tanning for more than 200 years. As a result, the site was contaminated by hazardous chemicals and has sat empty since 2003.
