TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, meaning the youngest veterans who fought in the deadliest war in history are now approaching a century old. With the number of survivors declining rapidly, 102-year-old veteran Richard Bushong has made it his mission to keep his story alive. “I wanted to be a pilot so bad I could taste it,” said Bushong while reflecting on his life at the 390th Memorial Museum in Tucson.

(13 News) - A 10-year-old Tucson girl is raising awareness on social media for aplastic anemia after being diagnosed with the rare blood condition in January. “I didn’t really know what it was, so I was pretty scared,” Brooke Boddie said. The diagnosis began at Urgent Care. Leslie, Brooke’s mom, was concerned about unusual bruising and petechiae, or bleeding under the skin, on Brooke’s arms and legs.

Not only can heat impact a plane’s ability to fly, but it can also put a strain on the people behind the scenes that are doing their part to make sure the process runs smoothly.
