Shopping sustainably has become incredibly popular in the last few years. Buying used clothing from thrift stores or other secondhand resellers is more common than ever before. From 2021 to 2023, the secondhand apparel market went from and is expected to reach $351 billion by 2027. From stores like Goodwill and Plato’s Closet to apps like Depop, Poshmark and eBay, buying pre-owned and “vintage” clothing has become quite a common practice and gotten more popular recently.

12:45 pm Pitt softball ended the weekend with a 1-2 record against the Louisville Cardinals. The Panthers narrowly lost 2-3 on Friday evening despite putting up early runs in the first and second inning. Pitt’s offense was able to bounce back on Saturday afternoon, beating Louisville 9-4. However, Louisville was able to capitalize on Pitt’s poor pitching by hitting 4 home runs to cement Pitt’s 9-0 loss in game three.

12:30 pm About 60 people joined Pittsburgh Palestine Coalition’s “die-in” protest to demand a ceasefire in Gaza. Protesters listened to speeches from the organizers, then spent about 15 minutes staging a die-in on the Cathedral of Learning lawn before moving to the intersection of Forbes and Bigelow for another 15 minutes. A group of roughly 20 counter protesters in support of Israel showed up to the Cathedral lawn soon after the protesters began the initial die-in.

I’ve always considered myself a rather stubborn individual, but alongside that trait, I’ve prided myself on a certain level of self-awareness. I’ve been cautious never to impose my thoughts onto others, respecting their perspectives even if they differed from mine. However, as of late, I’ve noticed a shift within myself — it’s not stubbornness that’s consuming me, but rather, an unsettling intolerance towards any form of disagreement.

2:01 am Sweet Pill is a fantastic alternative emo band out of Philadelphia that I absolutely adore. I think that more people should listen to them if they are not familiar with them. The band consists of lead vocalist Zayna Youssef, drummer Chris Kearney, bassist Ryan Cullen and guitarists Sean McCall and Jayce Williams. The band’s first single, “Doubt,” was released in 2019.

12:08 am Mamma Mia, here I go again! One of my all-time favorite musicals came to the stage of the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh from March 26 through 31, so naturally, I couldn’t miss it. Presented by the Benedum Center, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh, “Mamma Mia!” brought audiences the iconic story of a mother, daughter and three potential dads at a Greek island wedding, told through the beloved tunes of ABBA.
