MANCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) - The Manchester Music Festival opened earlier this month for its 50th season, and as part of the program this weekend will host a discussion on racial bias in the world of classical music. The event, "Given a Chance: Concert and Discussion," will take place on Sunday from 5-7 PM at the SVAC Arkell Pavilion in Manchester and will feature a musical performance as well as a topical discussion on underrepresentation in the music industry.

CABOT, Vt. (WCAX) - Cabot's Arts and Music Festival kicks off Friday. Twelve bands will hit four stages across the village. The two-day festival also features food trucks, a maker's market, and other community art projects. Dana Robinson, one of the organizers, says that after two years of getting hit hard by flooding, the joyous celebration is a welcome event. COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) - Musicians will string together a sweet set to help fight hunger this weekend. It's part of the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, now in its 20th year, which has been running for a few weeks now. More than 200 students from all over the country come to St. Michael's College in Colchester to hone their skills with string quartets that go out into the community to play.
