A person was caught in 20/20 vision on a security camera trying to get into Hills and Dales in Jackson Township over the weekend. First, they tried the front door before trying a window. They then carry a bag and spots a camera before smashing the camera and then smashing a window.

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO) - Bay High School canceled the rest of lacrosse season Wednesday after the death of player Dylan Veselic. “Following a period of thoughtful reflection this past weekend, the Bay High School Boys Lacrosse Team has made the decision to conclude its season. Head Coach Kyle Figy shared this information with me last night,” said Bay Village City School District Athletic Director Matt Spellman.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - There is heartbreak in Berea after the sudden passing of Sgt. Ean Esposito over the weekend. The Berea Police Department was adorned with blue ribbons on Monday after Sgt. Esposito, 42, died on Saturday following an unexpected medical emergency at home in Brunswick. “He loved to teach, loved to educate. I was always laughing, had a great sense of humor, really was a, was a model officer. You really couldn’t ask for anything more than him,” said Berea Police Chief Dan Clark.

The Bay High School team was playing Olmsted Falls High School at Olmsted Falls when Dylan Veselic was hurt. ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The National Transportation Safety Board is holding a press conference at 3 p.m. on Wednesday regarding the deadly Ashland County plane crash. A 72-year-old man died Monday evening after crashing his single-engine plane in Jackson Township. The crash happened at 7:42 p.m. in a wooded area near State Route 89 and Township Road 902. Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers said the pilot was the only person on board the Express 2000 FT.

Currently there is no mechanism to add on a charge when a fugitive barricades themself. Now, an alarming increase of these situations has pushed law enforcement to ask for stiffer penalties. 19 News has been on the scene of many barricaded suspects showing the massive disruption these situations cause.

Ronayne sent a letter to the legislature proposing the state contribute the sum instead of budgeting $600 million for a new Brook Park dome. Each day, Griffin has a front row seat to the stadium and lakefront from Cleveland City Hall. He’s passionate about keeping the team downtown.
Nordonia School District sending levy to ballot for third time next month

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Nordonia is asking for a 5-mill levy for operations on May 6. The district already has cut 45 staff positions for next school year but say they need the levy for much-needed upkeep for aging facilities and to help give students the best possible experience. On Thursday, nearly 30 students rallied outside Nordonia High School with signs, asking community members to vote yes and support their school.
