Waller County jail officials have agreed to house inmates from Montgomery County just two months after Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle expanded the county's capacity to address overcrowding. According to the agreement, Waller County will provide housing, food and medical services to the inmates at a rate of $75 a day. "We do believe an inmate did start the fire," Liberty County Sheriff's Office Capt. David Meyers said in a media briefing posted by The Vindicator. However, the sheriff's officer later said the fire was likely started by a ballast of a light fixture, according to ABC13.
